Industry associations ActiZ, VGN and WDTM are looking for innovative initiatives for future-proof eldercare and disability care for the Pioneers Award. To maximize the impact of the award, the organizers have broadened the participant pool for the fourth edition. In addition to start ups, this year healthcare organizations and healthcare professionals can also participate.

"We are involving healthcare organizations and innovators because they deal with real-world challenges on a daily basis and can therefore offer valuable insights and solutions," the organizers explain the new format. "By actively involving these groups, we not only accelerate innovation, but also increase the likelihood of successful implementation in the sector."

Wider application

For the Pioneers Award, ActiZ, VGN and WDTM are looking for innovative concepts that can make a major impact in elderly and disability care. Such a concept can be a practical application, method or tool that is already functioning within a specific setting. The innovations can be digital or non-digital, local or regional. However, it must be an elaborated solution that has already been tested in practice. The results indicate that the concept is functioning as intended and is in principle more widely applicable.

Judging

The jury, chaired by director Jef Mol of Thebe, evaluates entries based on several criteria. First, the jury members look at the impact on the care process: how does the innovation contribute to better care or more job satisfaction for care workers? In addition, they assess the practical value: does the solution lead to time or cost savings, or does it help relieve work pressure? Finally, scalability is an important criterion: does the concept have the potential to be successfully implemented in other organizations or regions?

Presentation

According to organizers, the Pioneers Award offers a unique opportunity to accelerate and scale up concepts. Participants gain access to a broad network of healthcare professionals and experts who can help with further development and implementation. In addition, participants will receive guidance and valuable feedback from an expert panel from healthcare and industry. The selected entrants will also have the opportunity to present themselves during Zorg & ICT on April 10 at the Jaarbeurs Utrecht. Registration is still open until March 11.
