Utrecht, March 6, 2025 - From April 8 to 10, 2025, the first edition of the Zorg & hr trade fair will take place in Royal Jaarbeurs. Jaarbeurs is organizing this trade fair, leveraging the expertise of HR service provider Randstad, the event's founding partner. The fair aims to support healthcare professionals with their staffing needs. Exhibitors will have the opportunity to present their innovative solutions to healthcare managers and department heads dealing with staffing issues. The Care & hr trade show provides insight into all the technical possibilities for effectively addressing staffing challenges in healthcare.

Audrey Wilschut, exhibition manager Royal Jaarbeurs: "Technology helps reduce personnel shortages in healthcare by working more efficiently, reducing administrative burdens and supporting healthcare providers with new technologies. This is why we want to give all visitors to Zorg & hr additional insight into innovative solutions."

Personnel challenges in healthcare: use of technology a must
Audrey Wilschut: "At the trade fair, we will set up a special Care & HR theater and we will set up a customized route along exhibitors." In the theater, organizations such as mProve, Visma, Anders Werken in de Zorg/Digivaardig in de Zorg, Buro Strakz and Utrechtzorg will give presentations. Bianca Buurman, president of the V&VN, will take the main stage on Wednesday, April 9, and share her views on the possibilities and limitations of technology in addressing the healthcare workforce shortage. "Do we want the pizza to be delivered on time or the ambulance to arrive on time? In the near future, we may have to choose what we will invest in as a society. It's hard to say where AI will be in a few years," Bianca Buurman said.

Care & hr: drastic measures are unavoidable
The personnel shortage in healthcare is severe. Fewer and fewer caregivers are caring for more and more people. According to the Social and Economic Council (SER), one in seven people currently working in care is estimated to be one in four by 2040. The challenge to also meet the demand for care in 2040 is enormous and drastic measures are unavoidable. Lieke Schepers, managing director Randstad Professional: "We believe that progress is created when the right people and expertise come together. This is how we help our relations to take steps in the rapidly changing world of Healthcare. I am enormously proud that, as a founding partner, we at Randstad are contributing to the creation of Zorg & hr. In this way, we can make that connection and contribute to ensuring that healthcare remains accessible to everyone - also in the future."
